Oil-free compressors are used in industries that need a very clean and oil free air source e.g. hospitals, pharmaceuticals and the food industry.

Although air output does not have oil as a contaminent, the air still needs to be filtered to reduce other contaminants to provide quality compressed air.

There are a few technologies used in oil free compressors. These include water injection, two stage dry screws, single or two stage oil free pistons or centrifugal compressors.
